Do you have heartburn? Acid reflux? Nausea or other stomach ailments?
Instead of fighting a losing battle with pills and liquids from the drug store, why not give the body what it needs with something natural from the health food store?
Apple Cider Vinegar!
Most medications you can buy are antacids, which do exactly what they say -- neutralize and diminish the acid in your stomach. But believe it or not, that's not what you want to do!
Your stomach needs the acid to digest food. And in fact, when you experience heartburn or acid reflux, it's not excess acid that's the problem; it's a lack of acid.
Antacid pills and liquids might appear to be helping, but in fact they are treating just the symptom and not the cause.
By taking Apple Cider Vinegar, you are mimicking the PH level of acid in your stomach, which helps you digest the food properly rather than suppressing the acid and temporarily treating the burn.
Acid reflux and nausea can be instantly stopped with a quick swig of Apple Cider Vinegar, commonly called ACV. It has even been known to ward off food poisoning in advance. People who took the ACV before the meal were fine, while those who didn't ended up quite sick.
The most important thing about ACV is getting the right kind. Don't just grab it off the shelf at the grocery store, because that ACV has been treated and pasteurized and is missing the most powerful part.
The best ACV is natural vinegar from the health food store, which still contains the "mother". The mother can actually be used to make more vinegar out of apple cider, but it also has the most healing properties out of the entire mixture.
When you hold the bottle up to the light, the mother looks likes dirty parts or fungus floating around... which in a way it is, but it is not harmful at all. In fact, it's the exact opposite.
It's best to shake it up so you disperse the mother throughout, then you can take some vinegar with or without honey.
Many people say natural honey not only makes it taste better but boosts the power of the ACV even more, but it's very powerful on its own too.
One way to take ACV is put a teaspoon or so in a glass of water and just sip it. Another is to put 1/4 ounce in the bottom of a shot glass, fill it with water, and down it in one swig. Either method can be combined with honey if preferred. For a hot drink which will mix the honey even better, use hot water, honey and a teaspoon or so of ACV, and sip it like a tea or hot cider.
The best course of action is to take ACV in your favorite method before every meal to aid digestion and stave off problems before they start. But it can also be taken any time your stomach doesn't feel 100%, and should quickly bring you back around to normal.
And if you take ACV every day... you should keep the doctor away, at least for any more digestive complaints.

How To Make 2007 Your Year to Get into Shape
Here we are, already two weeks into the New Year. You know I have to ask...how is that fitness resolution coming along?
If the pounds haven't budged yet, don't panic. I have some words of wisdom for you to live by this year - words that will aide in getting you to your fitness goal.
Shoot for dropping a pound a week.
Now, this may not seem like that much, but if you did this consistently for the rest of the year it would result in 50 lbs lost. This may be extreme for you, but the good news is that once you achieve your idea body maintenance is a breeze. How great would it be to begin 2008 with a brand new body?
This all sound well and good, but how do you go about the business of shedding that pound each week? I am here to tell you that it doesn't have to be allusive, mysterious or frustrating. In fact, with a little calculation, you can consistently drop one pound a week until you reach your goal.
All it takes are small changes in your daily lifestyle. Let's break the process down...
How to shed a pound a week: Burn 3500 cal. more than normal.
It's that simple! No fancy pills or powders necessary, just a progression of calories exerted without an increase in calories consumed. Try the following three steps:
1. Record your normal weekly exercise - look at everything from walking to participating in sports to exercising in the gym. This is your starting point. You need to burn an additional 3500 calories on top of your normal weekly exercise.
If you don't currently exercise, then this step is really easy for you, a simple blank page will do.
2. Record your normal weekly food intake - this may be hard to do honestly, but remember that you are only cheating yourself by not recording everything. Calculate the total number of calories that you eat in an average day.
In your quest for dropping inches you shouldn't exceed your normal daily caloric intake - you should, rather, work at slowly decreasing that number.
Remember, we are going for a 3500 calorie deficit each week - this can be done by a combination of increased calorie exertion (exercise) as well as a decrease in calories consumed (eating less).
3. Chart the difference - now that you know your starting point for both calorie exertion and calorie intake it is time to turn the tables in your favor. Take every opportunity to exert more calories by increasing your physical activity, and to decrease your calorie consumption by eating fewer calories and by making healthier selections.
Record your progress in a notebook and refer back to it often. You will be surprised how encouraging it is to see the positive changes that you are taking in your life written down on paper.
If you burn up 500 calories a day you will drop a pound in a week.
Here are some practical ways to lose calories:
If you normally... - Do this instead...
Drink a morning Mocha - Drink green tea or black coffee (200 calories lost)
Enjoy a candy bar between meals - Enjoy a granola bar (180 calories lost)
Sit during your entire lunch break - Walk briskly for 30 minutes (150 calories lost)
Watch T.V. for two hours - Do jumping jacks during commercials (120 calories lost)

Developing Your Will Power
Developing your will power is directly related to your success in life. No one can over-estimate the power of your will to do.
Most people do not fail because of a lack of education. History is filled with uneducated or poorly educated millionaires who didn't let this supposed shortcoming hold them back. On the contrary, what they may have lacked in education was obliterated by their overpowering will to succeed, no matter how many times they failed along the way.
It is the lack of determination and will power that is the true reason so many people fail. Just as an athlete trains for a physical game that takes concentrated effort, the mind must be trained with the proper skills to win in life.
The process of obtaining this self-mastery -- the complete command of your mind's powers -- is a gradual one. It involves determination and the daily task of making it a habit. Once you have self-mastery, the cost of obtaining it will bring a real sense of accomplishment and a realization how minimal the cost really was in the long run.
You don't need to be a genius to succeed -- just make yourself do the thing you need to do when it has to get done, whether you like it or not. This is one of the best lessons you can learn.
When Henry Ward Beecher was asked how he could accomplish so much more than others, he replied, "I don't do more, but less than others. They do all their work three times. Once in anticipation, once in actuality, and once in rumination. I do mine in actuality alone, so I end up doing things just once."
Beecher could concentrate his mind on what he was doing at a given moment. Then he'd go do something else and concentrate on his new task. One of the secrets of a successful life is the ability to focus all of our energies on one thing at a time.
Don't waste time worrying as it only crowds your thoughts with worthless clutter. Focus on what you're doing when you're doing it, and stop worry before it stops you. Worry is an energy vampire. It reduces your chances for success and it can make life miserable for those around you.
Learning to focus your efforts is the only way you will achieve the success you're capable of achieving. The earlier in life you learn this simple fact, the more likely you will overcome everything that slows you down and prevents you from reaching true success in everything you do.
Here's a recipe for a wasted life -- just go about every day trying to do too many things all at once. Splitting yourself up into a hundred little parts leads to nowhere.
Yes, there are some people who like to juggle a number of tasks, and they may be good at it, but for most of us the need to concentrate on one task at a time is imperative to getting the job done. It's not the amount of work you get done in a day or week or even a year, but it's your persistence in constantly moving forward that will get you where you want to go.
Keep at it! And remember ...
Focus, Focus, Focus.
